1934 Avions Voisin C27 Grand Sport Cabriolet
THE 1934 MADRID AUTO SALON
FORMERLY THE PROPERTY OF THE SHAH OF PERSIA THIS SPECIAL LOW CHASSIS C27 was constructed in September 1934 utilizing a modified C24 chassis and fit with a green and yellow “Figoni 2-Seater Drop Head” body. In December of that year, following its display at the Madrid Auto Salon, this unique Voisin was purchased for 20,300 French francs according to its factory invoice. The purchaser, according to a previous owner, was the Shah of Persia. The car was subsequently purchased by the Persian attaché in Paris. In 1948 the C27 was sold to a Monsieur Poirer, who kept it until the early 1960s. The car was then sold to collector, historian and publisher Serge Pozzoli, who partially restored the car with the intention of displaying it at his automotive museum. However, shortly thereafter Possoli decides to sell the car to an unknown person. In the late 1970s a car dealer finds the car neglected in a barn in Southeastern France and sells the deteriorated car to the frenchman Jacques Buson in 1984. That year, Mr. Buson commissioned Michel Lerowe to comprehensively restore it with the assistance of Claude Figoni, son of stylist Joseph, and Henry Bernard, the son of Voisin’s chief engineer Marius Bernard. The restoration was completed in 1991 - the car painted blue with black leather upholstery. Peter Mullin subsequently purchased the elegant roadster from Mr. Buson and subjected it to a second comprehensive restoration to its current specification. SPEC OVERVIEW:
